Gas prices have decreased both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of yesterday, dropped by a dime to reach $3.22 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole decreased by seven cents to sit at $3.24. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Brookville at $2.95, while the most expensive is in Mercer at $3.39.
The average national gas price is up by two cents over the past week to $2.92 but this is still lower than one year ago when gas averaged $3.16. Both gasoline demand as well as oil prices increased last week.
