A Butler man will plead guilty to driving under the influence, then hitting and killing a man working in his driveway in Connoquenessing Township last year.
Last July, police were called to the 100 block of Harmony Road for a fatal crash. Police charged 58-year-old Robert Pflugh of Butler with homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence and a DUI.
According to charging documents, Pflugh told police he was driving from Zelienople and not looking at the road when he hit the victim 65-year-old Donald Phipps. A blood test revealed Pflugh was driving under the influence.
Pflugh will plead guilty to homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence and a misdemeanor-controlled substance charge. He’s been in the Butler County Prison since the incident in July.
Sentencing has been scheduled for March 26th.
