Butler County is offering more insight into their finances as they continue to close the books on 2025.
Officials say that the county brought in nearly $460,000 more in property taxes than they projected. They also received $685,000 more in charges for government services.
However, rising utility costs along with other projects led to the county using about $3.5 million out of the fund balance, which is essentially a rainy-day fund for the county.
They will be able to roll over $4 million into this year’s fund balance.
