The mayor of Slippery Rock has filed a retaliatory suit against a local attorney and former candidate for district attorney after an earlier suit filed by the attorney was dismissed.
Mayor JonDavid Longo has filed a civil suit seeking greater than $35,000 dollars in damages against local attorney Jennifer Gilliland-Vanasdale.
This new suit comes after a suit filed by Gilliland-Vanasdale accused Longo, current District Attorney Rich Goldinger, and several others of sharing false information on social media. The case was eventually dismissed.
Longo has now filed a suit claiming the Vanasdale suit was wrongful use of civil proceedings and action for protected public expression.
A hearing was held on Friday for preliminary arguments.
