The stage has been set for Pennsylvania’s next gubernatorial election.
Governor Josh Shapiro will be not facing a challenger in May’s primary election nor will the Republican nominee Treasurer Stacy Garrity.
State Senator Doug Mastriano was rumored to enter the race, but announced he would not challenge Garrity for the Republican nomination.
When first elected to governor, Shaprio held the state record for most votes received in a state election, that record would be beaten by Garrity when she was elected to Treasury Secretary.
