The Knoch School Board has approved a new contract with their longtime transportation provider.
The agreement with W. L. Roenigk, Inc is for 10 years beginning this July but both the district and the company will have the opportunity to leave or renegotiate after five.
The total amount of the deal includes a five percent increase the first year, 10% the next year, four percent the year after, and three percent each year after that. A minor reduction in the total number of vehicles will take place during the first year. The district is currently paying nearly $2.9 million for transportation.
According to Knoch Superintendent Dr. David Foley, the current seven year deal included the opportunity for Roenigk to present an extension offer first and the district has been pleased with their service. Roenigk has been South Butler’s transportation provider since 2002.
