The beginning of March Madness also coincides with Problem Gambling Awareness Month.
The month of March sees a higher than average number of bets on sporting events.
There’s been a significant rise in gambling among young adult men according to Tanisha Faber of Keystone Wellness.
“We’ve really seen an increase in risky gambling habits by that demographic, specifically for men ages 25 to 35,” Faber said.
There are signs of problem gambling, including lying about where money goes, borrowing money, or decline in work or school performance.
