Charges against a Massachusetts man accused of harassing a local mayor have been withdrawn by the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office.
In October, charges were filed against 36-year-old Todd Hogue of Boston for allegedly harassing Slippery Rock Mayor Jondavid Longo and his family online.
According to charging documents, Hogue allegedly made threatening comments towards Longo’s family and sharing Longo’s home address.
On Wednesday, those charges were dropped by Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office.
The case was moved from District Attorney Rich Goldinger office to the state AG’s office because of a conflict.
Hogue’s attorney Jenifer Gilliland Vanasdale released a statement calling the charges “unwarranted criminal action simply because of disagreements, public debates, or personal viewpoints.”
