A Louisiana man is facing charges in Butler County after he allegedly stabbed another man during a fight.
It happened yesterday morning around 5:30 a.m. when emergency crews were called to the 300 block of Main Street in Bruin Borough for a man with bleeding. EMS got on scene and contacted police, claiming the injury was a stab wound.
When officers arrived, they spoke with the suspect, 31-year-old Byron Laxey of Lafayette. Laxey said he got into an argument over their work and started shoving each other. Laxey though had a knife in his hands at the time.
When officers spoke with the victim and a witness on scene, they both said they did not believe the knife was used to attack the victim.
According to charging documents, the victim suffered a stab wound and needed to have his lung re-inflated at the hospital.
Laxey was charged with aggravated assault and simple assault; his bail was set at $10,000.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for March 31st.
