Governor Josh Shapiro has once again joined a lawsuit against the Trump Administration, this time over a repeal of efforts to combat climate change.
The lawsuit includes 23 other states and challenges the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s repeal of the 2009 Greenhouse Gas Endangerment Finding.
That finding named six greenhouse gases in the atmosphere — carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons, and sulfur hexafluoride — which threaten the public health and welfare of current and future generations.
The suit is seeking a reversal of the EPA repeal which took place February 12th and is contrary to the naming of greenhouse gases as air pollutants covered by the Clean Air Act.
