Young students in the Mars Area School District are donating a large amount of money through an annual fundraiser.
The three elementary schools collectively raised nearly $22,000 for the American Heart Association through the Kids Heart and American Heart Challenges.
Leading the way was Mars Area Elementary School with over $12,000 collected.
In addition to collecting donations, the students also learned about heart health and participated in activities during their physical education classes to promote healthy hearts.
