State Police are alerting residents to an ongoing scam happening in the area involving PennDOT.
An unknown number will send a message claiming the receiver needs to pay for their vehicle registration.
The message will include a link and say if payment is not made in a day, there will be an increased fee then the vehicles title will be revoked.
PennDOT will never seek payment for services through text.
State Police are telling residents to block these numbers and never send them any personal information.
