A local business is helping the Butler Area Public Library with a recent financial gift.
During the library’s board meeting Wednesday evening, a representative of Dollar General presented a check for $5,000.
The gift was made in appreciation for support from the community during the recent move from their old Main Street location to the new one. The money will be put towards unspecified operating expenses.
The Butler Library is also applying for a Summer Reading grant from the Dollar General Literacy Fund with awards expected to be made in May.
