Western Pennsylvania finally got a break from rain yesterday, but it’s been a record setting spring so far.
Since the beginning of March, the Pittsburgh region has recorded 8.47 inches of rain. The average at this point in the spring is 3.8 inches.
And with the heavy rain and storms, some yards are in disrepair.
Our newsroom spoke with home improvement expert Andy Amrhein who says while you may be eager to attack some yard work, you should be careful if it’s too wet.
“The last thing you want to do is go into your yard, field, or garden when it’s too wet. You don’t want to destroy your yard,” Amrhein said. “My rule of thumb is, if you take a shovel and dirt sticks to the shovel when you pull it out, your yard is still too moist.”
