Karns City School District has passed a new “Bell-to-Bell No-Device” cell phone policy.
The Bell-to-Bell policy requires that students will not have access to their phone or other personal devices during the school day.
Different schools have different policies on how students have to store away phones, but Karns City will have students leave their phones in their lockers during the school day.
Punishment for not following the rule could result in confiscation of the device, a call home, detention, or in school suspension.
Exceptions will be made for those with written approval, such as medical needs, devices used for educational plans, and devices used for academic purposes.
Seneca Valley Passed a similar policy and the state senate passed a bill similar to the policy started at Seneca Valley.
