A local social fraternity at Slippery Rock University has organized a walk for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to fundraise for the charity and for the local organization.
The chapter had members walking in groups concurrently for approximately 72 hours as of 12pm today. The entirety of the fraternity has walked to raise awareness for MS. A few notable members walking a total of 12 hours each includes John Reilly, Braydon Sloan and Aidan Lysiak.
The fraternity has raised over $1,800 dollars with the majority of the funds being donated to the National MS Society. Theta Xi Beta Upsilon is a non-profit organization with the local chapter, BY, founded at Slippery Rock State College in the 1970s.
Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disease that affects the nervous system with a varying range of symptoms including pain, fatigue and vision complications.
