A man was taken to the Butler County Prison after he was allegedly removing children from his property and then assaulted a police officer in the City of Butler.
On Friday just after 8:30 p.m. officers were called to the 100 block of Wyle Avenue after a witness accused 48-year-old Clinton Benham of Butler of removing children from his property by dragging them away.
When officers spoke with Benham, Benham allegedly grabbed the officer’s hand. The officer then took Benham to the ground and placed him under arrest.
Benham has been charged with aggravated assault, two counts of simple assault, and resisting arrest. His bail was set at $15,000 and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for June 22.
