Some students in the Mars Area School District have collected a large amount of money as part of a fundraiser earlier this month.
Mars Area Centennial School students collected nearly $1,700 in donations to benefit the Butler County Humane Society as well as purchase new playground equipment.
The fifth and sixth graders made donations in containers with the names of teachers who were “pied” at an assembly.
The Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports program recognizes and rewards students for acts of kindness and other positive behavior.
