Later this week, the Knoch School Board plans on voting on a preliminary budget that includes a tax increase.
The school has not raised taxes in nearly a decade but are considering raising it the max amount of just over 3 mils to balance the budget.
Currently Knoch is operating at a nearly $600,000 deficit, but by raising taxes the maximum amount they will be able to balance the budget.
Home owners will pay an average increase of $69 year over year with the increase and Knoch School District, which will remain one of the lowest millage rates in Butler County.
The preliminary vote will happen at the school boards meeting on Wednesday. Then will be available online for 30 days before a final vote is held.
