A member of the State Supreme Court is changing his party affiliation from Democrat to Independent.
David Wecht announced he was changing parties due to his belief the Democratic party is growing tolerant of antisemitism.
Wecht was recently re-elected in 2025 and has been on the court since 2015.
Wecht is an Allegheny County native and son of the late Dr. Cyril Wecht.
