Pennsylvania has been ranked as one of the top states for economic impact generated by sports Tourism.
It’s been a big year for the Keystone State hosting the NFL Draft, NCAA March Madness games, the PGA Championship, FIFA World Cup Games and the MLB All-Star Game. With all of the events, the state has once again been put in the top five of Sports Tourism states for the second year in a row.
The Sports Events and Tourism Association (Sports ETA) in their 2026 State of the Industry Report ranked the commonwealth fourth in the nation.
Pennsylvania tourism data shows that 21 percent of overnight visitors included a sporting event as part of their trip up 15 percent from last year.
The total economic impact of the increased tourism has yet to be measured but the state has seen over $100 million invested into tourism during Governor Josh Shapiro’s time as governor.
