The Butler baseball team will play Neshaminy today in the Class 6A PIAA championship game in State College. Both teams are appearing in a state title game for the first time. Penn State recruit Nolan Stefaniak will start for Butler.
Hear the game on WBUT beginning at 4:20pm. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30pm.
The Butler game will be preceded by Indiana-Holy Ghost Prep in the Class 4A title game at 1:30pm. Southern Columbia and Mercyhurst Prep play this morning at 10:30am in the Class 2A title game.
This is the tenth year for the Class 6A PIAA baseball championship game. Only one WPIAL school has won a state title. Canon-McMillan won in 2018. Butler is only the fourth WPIAL school to reach the Class 6A championship game. North Allegheny was the state runner-up in 2021. Mt. Lebanon a state runner-up in 2023.
Three state softball championship games are being played in Penn State today as well featuring teams from Western Pennsylvania, including Shaler, Sharon, Chartiers-Houston and Laurel.
