The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission has unanimously approved a proposal that would strengthen cybersecurity.
The rule, if officially passed, would require utility companies to maintain cybersecurity programs that are widely recognized by national cybersecurity organizations.
Written comments can be filed with 90 days of when the rule is officially posed and reply comments can be filled 45 days following the written comment period.
The Independent Regulatory Review Commission and relevant legislative committees will be able to review the proposed rule before becoming official.
