Wyndham Clark held on to win the U.S. Open in New York by one stroke over Sam Burns Sunday. Clark had led the event wire-to-wire before struggling to a 3-over 73 finish Sunday. Clark reached 7-under par following his third round. His three-day total of 203 was the lowest 54-hole score ever at the Shinnecock Hills course. Burns closed to 3-under 67 during the final round to close in on Clark. It was his second U.S. Open win.
Last year, Clark damaged a locker room at Oakmont Country Club, and was banned from the club.
