A statewide agency is kicking in a record amount of money to help the television and film industry in Pennsylvania.
The Pennsylvania Film Office is awarding $117 million to 59 different projects across the state.
The money comes from the Film Production Tax Credit Program, which offers tax incentives to production companies.
Officials estimate these projects will bring more than $301 million into the economy and create over 7,000 jobs
These projects are estimated to generate $68.7 million in state and local tax revenue and create or support almost 12,000 jobs in the state.
The tax credit program includes large projects Paramount’s Mayor of Kingstown, the Netflix series Tires, and HBO’s Task.
