A man from Freeport is facing charges after he allegedly yelled racial slurs at two children.
According to police, 35-year-old Stacy Smith approached two minors who were playing basketball near Second Street last Friday, which was also Juneteenth.
Smith allegedly confronted one of the kids about having a knife, which scared his stepson. Police say Smith then yelled racial slurs at the two children.
His wife Angela is also facing charges for allegedly slapping the mother of one of the children and driving under the influence.
