Butler’s Kyle Casteel has been named the Prep Baseball Pennsylvania Player of the Year. Casteel, a West Virginia recruit, held batters to a .143 average this past season and did not lose a game in helping the Golden Tornado to the WPIAL championship and a runner-up state finish. MaxPreps has also unveiled their “All-State” honorees and Casteel is one of four players from Western Pennsylvania to be named to that list.
Casteel and teammate Nolan Stefaniak were an impressive one-two punch for Butler this season. Both are headed to Division I baseball, IF they aren’t drafted when the MLB Draft takes place in Philadelphia July 11th & 12th.
