A Bentleyville man is facing charges after sexually assaulting a teenager in Jefferson Township.
State police say 22-year-old William Leach went into a 15-year-old girl’s home after her parents left for work earlier this week. During that time, Leach allegedly began committing sexual acts to the teen.
Afterwards, Leach took the girl to walk around Saxonburg while drinking and smoking. They were spotted at a gas station around 1 a.m. Tuesday.
The two returned home, but Leach escaped into the woods. He eventually returned, and police were called again. Leach tried to take off, but was tracked down and taken into custody.
During an interview with police, the teen confirmed the sexual assault. She also said Leach threatened to “kill her and her entire family” if she told anyone about the assault. Police say there was significant evidence including a picture of the two laying together in bed, and according to the victim the picture was taken after the alleged statutory sexual assaults happened.
Leach has been charged with two counts of statutory sexual assault, three counts of indecent assault of a person less than 16 years of age, unlawful contact with a minor, interference with custody of children, and corruption of minors.
He’s being held in the Butler County Prison on $25,000 bond and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled July 28.
