Butler Memorial Hospital is now using new technology to help with knee replacement.
According to Independence Health System officials, the ROSA Knee Robotic Technology is a robotically assisted system to provide orthopedic surgeons with real-time data to help personalize total knee replacement procedures and support surgical accuracy.
Using a camera and optical tracker, similar to a GPS-style navigation system, a surgeon-controlled robotic surgical assistant will provide real-time information about a patient’s knee anatomy and joint position during surgery.
The surgeon will then be able to guide implant positioning to customize treatment based on each patient’s individual anatomy and needs.
