Cranberry Township is opting into a federal program that will be new to Butler County as the population grows.
Township supervisors voted to join Butler County’s Urban CDBG Funding program. The county became eligible to receive the dollars once the population grew over 200,000.
Different from previous CDBG funding, this source of funding would be available to all municipalities that opt in, opposed to just the select few that currently receive it.
The deadline for municipalities to join the agreement is today.
