The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission has announced that industrial energy usage is projected to increase significantly.
Current projections have residential and commercial customers electricity usage increasing by less than one percent through 2030.
But industrial customers are projected to have an increase of 18 percent by 2030.
The PUC credits this large and rabid growth to anticipated increase of large-load customers, particularly data centers.
These numbers are not guaranted according to the PUC because economic conditions, financing, construction schedules, and more other factors can impact total electricity usage.
