A Butler man who was stabbed while breaking into a Butler City apartment has been charged.
The incident happened on August 15 at an apartment on the 300 block of McKean Street.
According to charging documents, 61-year-old Daniel Watters was attempting to break into the victim’s apartment. Once inside the Watters was preparing to hit the victim, when a woman stabbed Watters in the neck with a knife to prevent the attack.
Watters is also accused of hitting and choking the woman while attempting to break into the apartment.
Watters has been charged with criminal trespassing and two counts of simple assault. He was released on nonmonetary bail and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for September 21.
