A Chicora man has been accused of stealing a shotgun and then attempting to sell the gun in Donegal Township.
The incident started on August 31 when the victim bought the shotgun from 26-year-old Braiden Safranek for $400.
According to charging documents, Safranek had stolen the gun from another man because he wouldn’t help Safranek work on his car.
The gun was identified as stolen after someone knew the distinct design on the gun was from someone else’s shotgun.
Safranek has been charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, and theft by deception.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for September 29 and Safranek was released on the condition he return to court.
