Butler County is moving forward with a plan to renovate Diamond Park.
The county commissioners officially put the project out to bid at yesterday’s public meeting.
The renovation includes removing the water fountain, building a new pavilion, adding new benches and tables, and also making it easier to load and unload items for events. There will be a new water feature included at the park.
Commissioners say the rehab is being done so Diamond Park can better host events, which has been happening more often.
The county received a $250,000 matching grant for the park.
Work is expected to begin at some point next year.
