It’s been an extremely wet last six weeks in the area.
Going back to August 1st, the National Weather Service has recorded nearly 12.7 inches of precipitation for the Pittsburgh area.
That is the second-most ever in our region’s history, trailing only 2004, when we received over 15 inches of rain. That year was also highlighted by the historic Hurricane Ivan.
However, the National Weather Service is predicting that we will be on a stretch of dry weather over the next six to 10 days.
