A couple of projects in downtown Butler are moving forward.
At their meeting Thursday night, Butler City Council approved awarding a contract for just over $18,000 to Troy Jay Construction of Slippery Rock, who was the lowest of three bidders for the project. This is to install bollards, or short vertical posts at the Farmer’s Market to prevent vehicles from going over a drop of six to seven inches.
Additionally, Council awarded a second contract to Troy Jay Construction in the amount of just over $8,000 for the Clinton Avenue Storm Inlet Protection project. This work will address a natural spring in that area that turns to ice in the winter as well as allows for improved access for pipe cleaning.
Both projects are expected to be completed sometime in the next 60 to 90 days.
