State officials were in Butler County earlier this week discussing the future of a major roadway and how to pay for the project.
Pennsylvania Transportation Secretary Mike Carrol was Representative Brandon Dukes guest Wednesday in Cranberry Township discussing the future of the Route 228 corridor.
The final phase of the project is expected to cost $102 million and officials discussed how to pay for the project.
During the meeting Carroll committed half the money needed for the project will come from the state but the other half needs to come from the federal government.
Officials traveled to D.C. yesterday in attempt to secure the funding and the hope is the project is completed in 2030.
