High School Sports:
The Butler Boys and Girls Bowling teams defeated Shaler 7-0 in their first section match of the season Wednesday at Family Bowlaway.
Junior Jordan Reges led the Butler Boys with a 622 series. Senior Shawn Marcellus had the high game with a 235. (the Butler Boys won the match with total pins of 2710-2019.)
Senior Mercedes Belch led the Butler Girls with a 604 series and high game of 224. Senior Nicole Nebel added a 568 series and high game of 214. (the Butler Girls won the match with total pins of 2661-1923).
Butler will visit Mars next Wednesday.

–the North Allegheny Boys and Girls swept Freeport 7-0.
–The Armstrong Girls defeated St. Joseph 7-0. The Armstrong Boys defeated St. Joseph 5-2.
The PIAA has released its new classifications for 2018, and it includes just nine teams from the WPIAL at the 6A level. Penn Hills, Shaler, Bethel Park and Shaler will all move down to 5A, and Altoona has decided not to play in the WPIAL.
