The Pittsburgh Steelers host the Cleveland Browns in their regular season finale Sunday at Heinz Field. Kickoff is 1pm. Hear the game on WISR beginning at noon. If Thursday’s practice was any indication of playing time, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and running back Le’Veon Bell were limited. Lineman Cam Heyward was also limited, and center Maurkice Pouncey did not practice.
Wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster has won the Joe Greene Performance award, which is given to the team’s top rookie by the Pittsburgh chapter of the Pro Football Writers of America. Smith-Schuster has 49 receptions for 774 yards and six touchdowns this season.
Guard David DeCastro was given “The Chief Award” for cooperation with the media.
Dave Gettleman has been hired as the new general manager of the New York Giants. Gettleman spent 15 seasons with the Giants before leaving for Carolina. He was the Panthers general manager from 2013-2016, and helped them to a Super Bowl appearance. He was fired after the 2016 season when the Panthers missed the playoffs.
