Knoch graduate Jordan Geist set a University of Arizona school record and an NCAA Freshman record with a throw of 70-feet 4-inches Saturday at a meet at the University of Washington Invitational. It was the number one mark in the NCAA this season and the second best throw in the world. The 19-year old Geist is one of the youngest athletes in history to throw a shot put over 70 feet.
Bryce Love won the Lombardi Award Saturday, given to the top Division I college football player. The award is based on performance, leadership, character and resilience. Penn State running back Sayquon Barkley was also a finalist.
