High School Sports:
Girls Basketball:
–Fox Chapel defeated Butler 46-20.
–Norwin pounded Pine-Richland 72-25.
–North Allegheny defeated Shaler 54-28.
–Mars-59 Kiski Area-35.
–Knoch-50 Highlands-16. The Knights shutout Highlands in the first and third quarters.
–Freeport defeated Greensburg Salem 47-33. Samantha Clark led the Yellow Jackets with 22.
–North Catholic-68 Indiana-22. Four Trojans scored in double figures.
Boys Basketball:
–The Butler 7th grade Boys defeated Apollo-Ridge 31-28. Troy Herrington and Ben Miller led the Golden Tornado with 12 points each. Butler improved to 3-4.
It is a rare Friday night during basketball season. Both the Butler and Knoch Boys are idle.
The Knoch Boys basketball team are scheduled to play Saturday at 7:30pm.
Hockey:
–Mars-4 Hempfield-1.
–Pine-Richland-6 Armstrong-0.
The North Allegheny swimmers swept Butler. Boys 108-76. Girls 101-83.
