High School Sports:
Boys Basketball:
–Karns City-75 Forest Area-33. Austin Fahlor led the Gremlins with 21 points. Chase Beighley added 15.
–North Clarion-53 Moniteau-39.
–The DuBos Central Catholic – AC Valley game was postponed until February 7th.
–Tonight on the Butler Radio Network:
–Knoch looks to extend their winning streak to 10 games when they host Mt. Pleasant. Scott Briggs has the game on WISR beginning at 7:15pm. Tip-off from Knoch high school is 7:30pm.
–Butler will visit North Allegheny. Hear the game on WBUT with Tyler Friel beginning at 7:20pm. Tip-off is 7:30pm.
Girls Basketball:
–Freeport defeated Highlands 66-18. The Yellow Jackets jumped out to a 42-6 lead by halftime. Three Yellow Jackets scored in double figures. Madeline Clark had 13 points. Sidney Shemanski and Harley Holloway had 12.
–Slippery Rock defeated Moniteau 73-29. Four Slippery Rock players scored in double-digits, led by Emma McDermott with 19.
–North Allegheny defeated Seneca Valley 49-29. The Tigers are now 16-0 and 9-0 in section-play. Seneca Valley fell to 11-4 overall and 5-4 in Class 6A Section-1.
–Shaler defeated Butler 32-31 in overtime.
–Gateway defeated Mars 48-39 to take control of Class 5A Section-2. The Gators are now 13-3 overall and 7-1 in the section. Mars, the defending state champions, fell to 5-3 in their section, 11-4 overall.
–North Catholic downed Apollo-Ridge 59-22. Tess Myers led the Trojans with 17.
–Knoch over Indiana 40-37.
Hockey:
–Bethel Park-4 Seneca Valley-1.
