The Pro Bowl will be played this Sunday at 3pm in Orlando. Super Bowl 52 will be played in Atlanta February 3rd. Kick-off is 6:30pm.
Slippery Rock University running back Wes Hills will be part of the South Team in Saturday’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. Kick-off is 3pm. The game will be televised on the NFL Network.
Pittsburgh Pirates-Fest will be held at PNC Park Saturday from Noon to 5pm. Admission is free. (there will be question and answer sessions, autographs and various activities.)
The NHL All-Star game will be played Saturday in San Jose. The Central Division will face the Pacific Division from the Western Conference at 8:15pm. The Metropolitan Division will play the Atlantic Division from the Eastern Conference at 9:15pm. The two winners will play in the final at 10:15pm. Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang of the Pittsburgh Penguins will play for the Metropolitan Division.
The Penguins return to the ice Monday against New Jersey at PPG Paints Arena.
NHRA Funny Car driver Courtney Force is stepping away from the sport as a driver. Force, the daughter of drag racing legend John Force, has finished in the top-10 of the sport in six of her seven seasons. Force says she is going to remain a part of drag racing, but not as a driver.

The Freeport girls basketball team beat Burrell 62-29 Sidney Shemanski had 17 points in the win.
The Knoch girls lost to Greensburg Salem 43-36.
The Mars girls beat Plum 64-47
Tonight:
–Butler will host a doubleheader – and both games will be carried on WBUT 1050am and at wbut.com.
The Butler Girls face Pine-Richland at 6:30pm. Tyler Friel has the pregame at 6:20pm. The Butler Boys host North Hills following that game.
–Knoch will travel to Yough looking to extend their 10-game winning streak. Scott Briggs has the game beginning at 7:15pm on WISR and online at wisr680.com.
Freeport Hockey loses to Deer Lakes 5-4 in hockey.
Mars beat Shaler 3-0.
