For the fifth consecutive year, more Americans are projected to take to the seas for vacation than previous year.
According to AAA, 21.7 million Americans are projected to take a cruise this year, surpassing pre-pandemic levels.
In 2019, only 14.2 million went on a cruise but in 2024 (the last fully counted year) 19.1 million sailed the highwaters.
The largest percentage of sea mates was those 55 or older, making up 65 percent of travelers.
The top location, was the Caribbean with 72 percent while Alaska was the second highest single location with seven percent.
To avoid the hustle and bustle of peak cruise season, you’re advised to not schedule a cruise from November to March.
