The holiday travel period is in full swing as millions of Americans will hit the road and take to the sky for Christmas.
AAA is projecting over 119 million people will be traveling for the holidays. That number is projected to surpass a pre-pandemic high set in 2019.
Nearly 90 percent of those traveling will be going by car. But, that leaves 7.85 million who will be flying, which breaks last year’s previous record.
AAA says the worst times to travel this weekend is from 1-8 p.m. today, 4-8 p.m. Saturday, and 3-8 p.m. on Sunday.
Experts also project that next Thursday will also be one of the worst travel days of the holiday period.
