Butler County received bids for a project to build a new wastewater system at the AC Valley Industrial Park.
However, those bids came in higher than expected. Between the new water lines and wastewater system, the project was about $1.2 million over the county’s initial projection.
The county is beginning to look at those contracts and work with engineers to determine if there are prices in those bids that could be reduced.
The project is currently being funded through a variety of grants, including one through the Appalachian Regional Commission. Before moving forward with any parts of the project, the county would have to consult with the commission.
