An Adams Township woman is facing charges after she allegedly shot her husband following an argument.
The shooting happened this past Friday evening just before 8 p.m. at a home in the 100 block of Pearce Road.
According to charging documents, 32-year-old Heather King and her husband Joseph, were arguing in their garage that night. She then grabbed a handgun from a cabinet and removed it from the holster.
The argument continued, with Heather King telling police that her husband made threatening statements and that she should just shoot him.
King’s husband then allegedly began to walk toward her, and that’s when she fired an unknown number of shots.
Joseph was shot in upper thigh of both legs, with police saying he was bleeding significantly. Heather King then helped her husband and called 9-1-1. When police arrived they had to apply a tourniquet. He was taken to a Pittsburgh trauma center.
Heather King was charged with one count of aggravated assault.
