A local police officer will be recognized later this month for extraordinary efforts during the Trump rally shooting last year.
Adams Township Sergeant Aaron Zaliponi will receive an award at the 2025 Amen Corner Senator John Heinz Law Enforcement Awards Luncheon, which will be held in Pittsburgh a week from Friday (10/17).
Zaliponi demonstrated extraordinary decisiveness during the July 13th 2024 event as he was the first to engage and disrupt the shooter, potentially saving many lives.
The 18 Southwestern Pennsylvania officers recognized as part of this program each accomplished acts of heroism and dedication above and beyond the call of duty.
