Events continue to be affected by the ongoing public health crisis with cancellations and postponements.
The primary fundraiser for Butler County Special Olympics Ales for Athletes scheduled for May 9th at the Vagabond Center in Lyndora has been canceled this year due to COVID-19. Those who have purchased tickets through Eventbrite should automatically receive refunds or visit the website to request refund processing. Next year’s event has been scheduled for April 10th but anyone able to help the organization through this year is asked to consider a monetary donation to Butler County Special Olympics.
Also, Penn State Extension has canceled or postponed all in-person events through June 19th due to coronavirus. Some events have been moved to a virtual format but those who have registered for canceled events will receive a notice and a refund if a fee was paid. Even though county extension offices are currently closed, extension educators are still working and can be reached electronically. Penn State Extension online courses are free for those who register before the end of April.
