Officials are warning high schoolers to be aware of possible scams surrounding upcoming standardized tests.
The state attorney general is warning that scammers are offering alleged prep material for the SAT and ACT exams.
The scammer will start the call by identifying themselves as the College Board or other education organization. They will then ask to confirm the student’s address and for a deposit for test prep materials.
The scammers claim they will refund the deposit after the test materials are used and returned.
The attorney general urges people to never give personal or financial information over the phone or email.
